Primary Activities

  1. Development and operation of the research infrastructure for behavioural and experimental research activity.
  2. The support of collaborative research projects from proposal preparation, publication in academic journals, and outreach.
  3. The joint supervision and mentoring of PhD students and of early career researchers.
  4. The establishment of a joint workshop that hosts both internal and external speakers. The location will alternate between Durham and Newcastle. Also, the hosting of international and regional meetings of related societies on an ad hoc basis.
  5. The establishment of research ties and activities in China and other international locations. This can entail the facilitating the running of experiments, research collaboration, seeking of funding, and the formation of strategic alliances with overseas research institutes.
  6. The establishment and maintenance of an online presence to disseminate research output and promote the cluster and the host institutions.
  7. The establishment of a working paper series.
